Lighting the Way:
Introducing the Strategic Plan
Today, more than ever, the principles on which EPIC was founded remain at our core. Within the nurturing embrace of the wider EPIC Family, our students are encouraged to think critically, act with integrity, be curious about the world and live a life of purposeful contribution.
EPIC is delighted to introduce its new Strategic Plan. This plan enshrines the school’s commitment to embedding and deepening the core beliefs of our heritage, within the ever-evolving modern context. It ensures future EPIC students are given every opportunity to develop into individuals who live purposefully and contribute.
This plan is the result of extensive engagement across the EPIC community. Thank you to the many parents, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and alumni who provided input over the two-year period it was developed by the EPIC Council and Executive.
The Strategic Plan is presented within the framework of the school’s founding principles and historical context. It reaffirms our founding legacy of improving society through education, our guiding beliefs, values and purpose, and outlines an extensive range of projects and new initiatives that will commence over the coming years.

Our Purpose
“Forming enlightened learners of good character, committed to shaping a better future” is the singular vision that underpins the curriculum, co-curriculum, and every project and initiative at EPIC. This is a definition of why what we do at EPIC matters, and how together we will contribute to a better world.
Our Values
Our values provide a guiding light for every member of the EPIC Family, and are the qualities we seek to reflect in our daily lives. By fostering and instilling these values in each student, we desire to see them become individuals of character, ready for a life of flourishing.
Respect. We believe in the inherent value and dignity of every person. We encourage each student to listen to, understand and appreciate the needs and views of others, and to forge lasting relationships regardless of religious, cultural, and social background.
Responsibility. We believe that every person is responsible for their life, actions, and decisions. We encourage each student to make the most of every opportunity and to use their gifts and talents in the service of others.
Reverence. We believe we are part of something bigger than ourselves. We encourage each student, through our traditions and the example of those who have gone before us, to embrace a spirit of reverence that awakens awe and wonder.
