Our History: A Legacy of Faith and Excellence
Foundations and Early Vision Established in 1998, East Preston Islamic College was founded by a dedicated Board of Directors with a vision to create a nurturing educational environment for young Muslims. The founders sought to build a school where students could excel in the Victorian Curriculum while being inspired by the teachings of the Holy Qur'an. The college began with a commitment to preparing students for "Success Here and Hereafter"—a motto that continues to drive our mission to develop compassionate, hardworking citizens ready to contribute to Australian society. Growth and Development Since its inception, the college has transformed from its early beginnings into a modern, comprehensive K–12 institution. Significant milestones in our physical and academic growth include: Expansion of Facilities (2009–2011): Through the Federal Government’s Building Education Revolution program, the college significantly expanded its infrastructure, adding a new Administration building, Gymnasium, and Multi-purpose facilities. Outdoor Learning (2010): The completion of a large undercover outdoor learning area provided students with dedicated space for sports including basketball, tennis, and netball. Academic Pathways: Over the years, EPIC has expanded its secondary offerings to include robust vocational and academic pathways, including VCE, VCAL, and VET, ensuring every student can find a route to success.
A Community-Centered Institution
The land on which EPIC stands is owned by the Islamic Co-ordinating Council of Victoria (ICCV), which remains our proprietor. Our governance is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors who ensure the school’s fundamental principles of Islamic ethos and academic rigor are upheld.

As of 2026, under the leadership of Principal Mr. Andrew Taylor and Executive Business Manager Mr. Usman Mir, East Preston Islamic College remains a vibrant part of the Melbourne community. We continue to prioritize a safe and caring learning environment where staff and students work cooperatively to achieve their best.
Our commitment to Australian democratic principles—including the rule of law, freedom of religion, and mutual respect—is woven into the fabric of our teaching, preparing our students to be proud Australians and model global citizens.

Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence across a broad range of disciplines.
Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded based on the results of an academic test and supporting documentation provided at the time of application, as well as an interview with the Director of Extension Studies or nominated delegate. Interviews will be-held either in person or via video conference, depending on the applicant’s location.
